Electrocardiogram

An ECG is a diagnostic procedure employed to assess the condition of your heart. Examining the heart's rhythm and electrical activity (signals) is a straightforward process. It monitors the heart's electrical activity for diagnostic purposes using temporary electrodes placed on your chest and limbs, enabling the doctor to identify any underlying issues. It is a painless, quick, easy, and non-invasive test that is often utilized in conjunction with other tests to diagnose and monitor heart-related conditions.

ELECTROCARDIOGRAM PROCEDURE

During an ECG procedure, patients are positioned supine on a table, and roughly 10 small, adhesive sensors known as electrodes are affixe to their arms, legs, and chest. These electrodes are connected via cables to an ECG recording device. Before applying the electrodes, patients are typically instructed to disrobe their upper body. While lying flat, the computerized machine records the electrical signals as wave-like patterns on a tracing paper. This allows the healthcare provider to determine the underlying cause of heart failure or chest discomfort. At Aarthi Scans, technicians undergo specialized training to assist patients effectively and ensure a smooth ECG process.
